Message from the Chapter President:

Greetings!  I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer! As the St. Louis Chapter kicks off our 2009/2010 fiscal year, I wanted to share some news and updates with all of you.

I am proud to announce that the St. Louis Chapter has earned the “Circle of Excellence Gold” recognition from the national CPCU Society for our activities in the 2008-2009 fiscal year.  Of the 149 Chapters in the CPCU Society, only 79 garnered this prestigious recognition. Congratulations to members of last year’s board, along with our excellent membership, in achieving this award!

I want to thank everyone who took part in this year’s annual Chapter survey. Over 60 chapter members provided excellent feedback on 2008/2009 activities and suggestions/ideas for this year’s events. The information provided by the survey was invaluable in the board’s planning efforts for the 2009/2010 fiscal year.  The survey results and narrative comments are provided with this Chaptergram, and I’m confident you will see your ideas at work in this year’s events.

Since our last monthly meeting in May, we had a vacancy arise in our Board of Directors.  The Board considered several nominees, and extended an invitation to Christy Kessler to become our new Jr. Director.  We are excited to have Christy on our team and look forward to her participation in helping to plan this year’s All-Industry Day event.

The theme for this year’s CPCU Annual Meeting and Seminars in Denver was “Embracing Changes”.   One significant change for this year’s annual meeting was that registration was opened for non-CPCU’s.   In the St.Louis Chapter, we have always welcomed non-CPCU’s at our meetings and All-Industry Day, and will continue this tradition in 2009/2010. We encourage you to share our monthly Chaptergram with your co-workers and invite them to join you at our events.

The key to any successful enterprise is communication. Please feel free to reach out to me or any of our Board members throughout the year with any suggestions, ideas, or concerns.

I’m proud to be a CPCU!
